ITCN Releases Youtuber2 Plugin for WordPress

Today ITCN announced the release of their new modification to Roy Tanck’s Youtuber, which we’ve decided to name Youtuber2. It is heavily based on his code, and works very similar. In order to embed a Youtube video in your Wordress posts, it uses the same syntax:
[youtube]video_id[/youtube]
Where video_id is the (usually) 11 character string at the end of the Youtube URL, as in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxxxx.

The features we’ve added to the plugin include the ability to:
- Turn on or off the embedded search bar.
- Disable the related video links which appear at the end of the video.
- Disable the title and ranking stars (and other info) which Youtube often bundles with any videos you embed.
Installation is pretty standard as with any WordPress plugin:
- Download the zip file and extract the contents.
- Upload the ‘youtuber2′ folder to your plugins directory (wp-content/plugins/).
- Activate the plugin through the ‘plugins’ page in WordPress.
- See ‘Settings->Youtuber2′ to adjust the display size and other options.

Barry, Great plugin for WordPress. I’m going to install this on a new clients blog who uses a lot of YouTube videos. I’m looking forward to hearing their reactions. Thanks for the post!
Nice plugin but it is not very original. Actually the competition among youtube plugins is very tough! Good luck! i will be keeping an eye on it ;)

I’m going to try this… my kid’s guitar teacher needed a website and I hooked him up using a Streamline Revolution2 Theme on WP. He has a number of vids on YouTube so I can use this plug. Small world – I’m up in Ramsey… I’m a full time SEO and one of my buds lives in Teaneck. Anyway thanks and have a great weekend !

seems like a very useful plugin. I was thinking about installing on WP however, does anybody know if this will be ok to use with WP 2.7 +?

Well this is a great plugin to embed YouTube Videos.. In Germany nowadays there are some problems with YouTube and so called “GEMA” which represents Singers/Producers Rights.. Music Videos on YouTube are closed at this time ):
